''Rodríguez puts in place an interaction between a rich philosophical anthropological model, constructivist learning theories and the Salesian style of preventive education. All the components are intended to reflect the specific requirements of Higher Education in a Latin American context. Well documented, the author approaches different aspects of leadership with the goal to present a set of not exhaustive principles which “could be read as a provocation to deepen them, rather than a set of immutable ideas. Their order can be modifiable, since in practice each of these elements is a kind of «deck of cards» to be used in the context”. This way he inserts himself in the Salesian tradition where all the formulations reveal an educational theory which was, to some extent, experimental, practiced, evaluated and improved upon tirelessly in the educational laboratory which we know as the Oratory in Valdocco. As the author states, putting a framework into place is only a starting point for using it as a guide for development of leaders and of leadership capacity. The appreciation of the presented theoretical framework is, therefore, connected with the wishes to develop fruitful methodologies, models and practices''.
