I en generation har han været nationens sportsstemme. Før han brød igennem lydmuren med ”Hutlihut” under EM-triumfen i Sverige i 1992, skrev han stolper op og ned i sportsspalterne i Frederiksborg Amtsavis, Berlingske og Politiken, inden sportsstemmen blev rettet til i radioen på Danmarks Radio, TV-stemmen på Nordisk Films Weekend-TV, for så at kunne bryde ud for fuld begejstring fra 1988 og begyndelsen på TV2. Dér har han været lige siden.I HUTLIHUT fortæller Flemming Toft om sin livslange karriere i sportens tjeneste. I et selvstændigt spor får vi for første gang den samlede beretning om hans anstrengte forhold til den danske landstræner Richard Møller Nielsen i årene op til og efter EM-triumfen i 1992. Bølgerne gik højt med trusselsbrev i postkassen og øretæver i luften for til sidst at lande i forsoningens rolige farvand.
