When the young king Bubi loses his first tooth, Pérez the tooth mouse comes to pay him a visit. This was one of Spanish author Luis Coloma’s most popular short stories, and the character Pérez the Mouse has taken on a role in Spanish speaking countries similar to that of the Tooth Fairy in English speaking countries.
