Dynamic Architecture
Om bogen
The late nineteenth and early twentieth centurieswere periods characterized by the fascination of motion, which is the result of the machine age as well as an expression of modernism. Many architects questioned the notion that buildings should be static and suggested that technology is the alternative to make a change in the city. They introduced new ideas to construct revolving structures that would reshape the new architecture. The introduction of computers helped architects to create daring architectural forms that need a highly progressed building technology. The revolution of information technology and virtual reality in the 21stCentury has also affected and changed the perception of buildings from a static object to a dynamic and movable one. However, this book gives an overview of the different types of motion in the architectural works and assesses the role progressive technology plays in creating motions in architecture.
