Obra de teatro José Luis Alonso de Santos nace en Valladolid en 1942. Desde 1959 vive en Madrid, donde estudió Ciencias de la Información (Imagen), Filosofía y Letras (Psicología) y Teatro en el Teatro Estudio de Madrid. Su carrera teatral se inicia en 1964 en los grupos de teatro independiente TEM, TABANO, TEI, y después diez años como actor, director y dramaturgo en el grupo TEATRO LIBRE de Madrid (1971-1981). Ha dirigido una veintena de espectáculos y ha escrito varias versiones teatrales y diez obras estrenadas como autor, que vienen representándose con continuidad, tanto en España como en el extranjero. Es profesor de Interpretación de la Real Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático y Danza de Madrid. En 1988 funda con Gerardo Malla y Rafael Álvarez "El Brujo" la productora teatral Pentación. Ha recibido, entre otros, el "Premio Nacional de Teatro", "Aguilar", "Rojas Zorrilla", "Mayte", "Tirso de Molina", "Baco de Teatro", "Ciudad de Valladolid", etc.
