Tillsammans med sina systrar och sina berömda föräldrar Alva och Gunnar ska han till New York.<br><br>Här ges en helt unik inblick i en elvaårings liv: hans läsning, hans mekano- och modellbyggande, hans fantasier, hans uppvaknande sexualitet, hans begynnande medvetande om världen och om kriget som närmar sig. Oerhört öppet och med elvaåringens perspektiv fortsätter Myrdal här i den andra delen sviten om sin uppväxt som de berömda föräldrarnas "problembarn". Inspelningen är från Sveriges Radio AB, 1984. Producent var Yvonne Glenning. Denna bok skrevs 1989 med det språkbruk som rådde då. Stötande ord kan därför förekomma.
