It Ends with Us
Description of book
NOW A MAJOR MOTION PICTURE STARRING BLAKE LIVELY AND JUSTIN BALDONI!
From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of It Starts with Us and All Your Perfects, a “brave and heartbreaking novel that digs its claws into you and doesn’t let go, long after you’ve finished it” (Anna Todd, New York Times bestselling author) about a young woman in a new relationship who can’t stop thinking about her first love.
Lily hasn’t always had it easy, but that’s never stopped her from working hard for the life she wants. She’s come a long way from the small town where she grew up—she graduated from college, moved to Boston, and started her own business. And when she feels a spark with a gorgeous neurosurgeon named Ryle Kincaid, everything in Lily’s life seems too good to be true.
Ryle is assertive, stubborn, maybe even a little arrogant. He’s also sensitive, brilliant, and has a total soft spot for Lily. And the way he looks in scrubs certainly doesn’t hurt. Lily can’t get him out of her head. But Ryle’s complete aversion to relationships is disturbing. Even as Lily finds herself becoming the exception to his “no dating” rule, she can’t help but wonder what made him that way in the first place.
As questions about her new relationship overwhelm her, so do thoughts of Atlas Corrigan—her first love and a link to the past she left behind. He was her kindred spirit, her protector. When Atlas suddenly reappears, everything Lily has built with Ryle is threatened.
An honest, evocative, and tender novel, It Ends with Us is “a glorious and touching read, a forever keeper. The kind of book that gets handed down” (USA TODAY).
Ratings & reviews
If it wasn't for all the drama surrounding the movie I probably wouldn't have finished the book. Story itself isn't bad but the writing is very basic and there's almost too much cringe to handle. The characters are boring and forgettable. Lily being the most boring of all. Spoiler alert her favourite food is toast.

it's fine.i appreciate what hoover wanta to do, and respect her and her mother's experiences that inspired this story. 60-70% of the time, the subject was handled well. but i cannot for the life of me, understand why she chose to include the GOOFIEST, most unserious details, like the mc being named LILY BLOSSOM BLOOM who is a florist for no reason, why there was such a focus on fkn ellen degeneres, or why we are supposed to find the 'just keep swimming' quote so profound and groundbreaking 😭 i was pleasantly surprised that i was invested in the story, but found myself snorting out loud at some cringe moments that ruined the atmosphere. i also think the mc and other characters could have been more fleshed out. i feel like rile was more complex and more developed than the others.
