Holapan runo tutkii ihmisen olemassaolon ulottuvuuksia, hänen aistimustensa ja mielikuvituksensa huimia tähtimatkoja aineen rajallisissa kehyksissä. Ennen muuta Holapan runot ovat kaikkea epätoivoa vastenkin ylistystä ihmisten keskinäiselle kohtaamiselle, sille tapahtumalle kun ihminen, hiukkanen miljardien joukossa, kohtaa toisen hiukkasen, jolle alkaa kasvaa merkitystä ja valottuu. Pohjoinen Orfeus laulaa ja itkee Holapan väkevissä runoissa. Pentti Holappa (1927–2017) oli suomalainen prosaisti ja runoilija, joka palkittiin vuonna 1998 Finlandia-palkinnolla. Kirjallisuuden valtionpalkinnon hän sai vuosina 1951 ja 1981. Holappa työskenteli myös toimittajana, kolumnistina ja suomentajana. Vuonna 1972 hän toimi kulttuuriministerinä.
