In the 1990s, Michael Ballack is at a sports boarding school in Chemnitz, Germany, when, one day, his knee is injured. The doctor says that Michael will never be able to play football again. Michael is shocked, devastated … But his coach tries to slowly build him up. For Michael it was all taking too long. He isn't allowed to get back to playing football – it's always just light exercises for him. Disheartened, he is about to give up. But his coach still believes in him and finally Michael understands: he has to fight. He fights, and soon he is ready to play and on his way to the German national team.
