The cycle of stories “Dark Alleys” was written by Ivan Bunin in his emigration from 1937 to 1944.

According to the author, “all the stories in this book are only about love, about its ‘dark’ and most often very dark and cruel alleys”.

The writer considered this book to be his best work.
