Heikki Talvitie työskenteli vuosikymmeniä diplomaattina. Belgrad, Moskova ja Tukholma tulivat Talvitielle tutuiksi suurlähettilään työssä. Itsenäisyyden ilmansuunnat on mielenkiintoinen yhteenveto Talvitien kokemuksista ja poliittisesta ajattelusta. Heikki Talvitie (s. 1939) teki merkittävän uran diplomaattina. Hänet tunnetaan myös Neuvostoliiton asiantuntijana. Toimittaja Risto Repo on politiikan toimittaja. Hän on työskennellyt muun muassa MTV:lla.
