I februari 1658 genomförde Karl X Gustav tillsammans med sin armé den djärva marschen över isen på de danska sunden. Händelsen har gått till historien som tåget över Bält och är ett av Sveriges framgångsrikaste militära fälttåg, men också ett av de mest riskfyllda. Tåget över Bält mynnade ut i dramatiska fredsförhandlingar och slutligen freden i Roskilde. Danmark förlorade en tredjedel av sitt territorium till Sverige: Östdanmark förvandlades till Sydsverige och sedan dess är Skåne, Blekinge och Bohuslän samt Halland svenska.<br><br>Tåget över Bält är den välkände historikern Lars Ericson Wolkes spännande berättelse om kampen mellan Danmark och Sverige. Här skildras inte minst de människor – kungar, diplomater, officerare, soldater, sjömän och civila – som på ett eller annat sätt var inblandade i de omvälvande händelserna på de danska öarna.
