Thomasine Gyllembourg er i vore dage mest kendt for sin skilsmisse fra den landsforviste P.A. Heiberg og som mor til Johan Ludvig Heiberg. Men hun er også en af vores første store kvindelige forfattere, og med sine anonymt udgivne "Hverdagshistorier" lagde hun grunden for den realistiske familiefortælling i Norden. Klaus P. Klaus Peter Mortensen (f. 1942) har været lektor i dansk litteratur ved Københavns Universitet, professor ved Danmarks Lærerhøjskole og redaktør på flere store udgivelser om litteratur. Han er desuden forfatter til en lang række forfattermonografier om blandt andre H.C. Andersen, Thomasine Gyllembourg, Herman Bang og Henrik Pontoppidan.
