K.H. Miskotte. Miskotte is hervormd predikant in Haarlem en vanaf september 1938 in Amsterdam. Daar werkt hij met bezieling in de verpauperde Jordaan. De wereldoorlog nadert en breekt uit in september 1939. Miskotte werkt onder grote druk aan zijn boek ‘Edda en Thora’, dat hij af wil hebben voordat de ‘Germanen’ komen. Geïnspireerd door theologie en poëzie houdt hij zich staande in een steeds dreigender wordende samenleving. K.H. Miskotte (1894-1976) is een van Nederlands meest invloedrijke theologen van de 20e eeuw. Deze publicatie met dagboekaantekeningen is het voorlaatste deel uit zijn Verzameld Werk.
