Lars Molin skildrar målande och med stor inlevelse de fattiga människornas desperata försök att förbättra sina levnadsvillkor. Lars Molin (1942-1999) är en av vår tids mest folkkära berättare, med televisionen som främsta medium. Han var arbetarförfattaren som gjorde en klassresa och blev berömd för sina varma, vemodiga och humoristiska historier i egen regi. Träkusten var hans sjätte roman, utgiven 1979.
