Penny is a mess. From the outside her life is alright. She has an amazing group of girl friends, a good job, a nice place to live and a sometimes boyfriend. But on the inside her life doesn’t feel alright. Her sometimes boyfriend ignores her more than not. Her job pays well but bores her and her boss scares her. Her friends seem to move on with their lives and she feels left behind. The only good thing is her housemate Leo to whom she grows closer. Her friends force her into therapy hoch she hates and then goes back to because she broke down enough to see the need. Penny is messy, hilarious and very relatable … and yes, sometimes also very annoying. She is so caught up in her own drama that she almost misses the good parts. And still, we all have felt like that. Even though it’s a little overdramatic I enjoyed following along and seeing how she figures herself out. I also liked the narrator a lot.

I have honestly listened to this more than once. Great narrator, great book. A mix between fleabag and sex and the city. Light hearted but honest. It’s comforting without making you cringe listening to some over the top unrealistic love story. This book is for the girlies!
