Siebelink is de auteur van een veelgeprezen oeuvre. Met Knielen op een bed violen veroverde hij een ongekend groot en breed publiek van meer dan een half miljoen lezers. Het boek werd onderscheiden met de AKO Literatuurprijs en in verscheidene talen vertaald. Het korte verhaal `Witte chrysanten verscheen oorspronkelijk in de verhalenbundel Nachtschade (1975).
