"Heikki Helmikangas" oli kirjailija Eero Sissalan esikoisteos. <br><br>"Kuivan kesän ja märjänlaisen syksyn perästä tuli talvella erittäin kovat pakkaset ja paljo lunta. Syksyn puolella oli halla ylimaissa tehnyt vahinkoa etenkin suvitouoille ja paljo köyhää työkansaa läksi sieltä kuljeskelemaan hakeaksensa, jos mahdollista, jotakin työn ansiota merenranta-pitäjissä. Muutamia kuulimme jo saapuneen Liminkaankin ja ruvenneen varsin vähäpätöistä palkkaa vastaan koko vuodeksi palvelukseen, rengiksi miehet, naiset piioiksi."
