Punti d'infinito - Points of infinity

Ero al liceo quando lessi per la prima volta William Wordsworth. Fu una rivelazione.

Poeta è l’Uomo che parla all’Uomo, all’Umanità. Ma come può egli, nella sua semplicità di uomo, riuscire in tale impresa? Lui che in mano ha solo una penna, un pugno di parole e un pensiero da vestire? Forse, grazie a quella penna, mossa da ignote forze creative, plasma nelle parole il ricordo. Frammenti, reminiscenze di ciò che è stato, ciò che sarà o che potrebbe essere, qui o in altre forme e dimensioni. La parola del poeta diventa memoria e la poesia sua custode. Le parole in noi risuonano, ogni parola vibra.

Vibra il pensiero nell’aria e a sua volta l’aria vibra, così come vibrano i nostri corpi e con noi tutta la materia. Tutto alla sua frequenza. Chissà che suono ha l’infinito…

I was in high school when I read for the first time William Wordsworth. It was a revelation.

Poet is the Man speaking to the Man, to Humanity. But how can he succeed in this task, in his simplicity as a man? He, who only has a pen in his hand, a bunch of words, and a thought to dress? Maybe, thanks to that pen, moved by unknown creative forces, he shapes the memory into words. Fragments, reminiscences of what was, what will be, or what could be, here or in other shapes and dimensions. The word of the poet becomes memory and poetry its guardian. The words resound in us, each words vibrates.

The thought vibrates in the air, and in turn, the air vibrates, as well as our bodies vibrate and with us all the matter. Everything following his frequency. Who knows what infinity sounds like…
