Kirjailija Johannes Linnankoski (1869–1913) tunnetaan erityisesti menestysromaanistaan "Laulu tulipunaisesta kukasta". Linnankoski julkaisi kirjailijanuransa aikana myös näytelmiä. Monet hänen teoksistaan käsittelevät moraalisia ongelmia. Myös raamatulliset aiheet ovat yleisiä Linnankosken teoksissa.
