L'edició de 2011 ja estava exhauria feia temps, i Carles Duarte ha aprofitat l'ocasió per revisar a fons la seva traducció i incorporar un epíleg completament nou. El volum conté el text original de Jordi de Sant Jordi, acarat amb la versió en català actual de Duarte, que ajunta els seus dots de poeta amb els de gran coneixedor de la llengua antiga. Jordi de Sant Jordi és considerat el primer dels grans poetes catalans, només superat, en la seva època, per Ausiàs March. Entre la seva obra hi trobem textos tan coneguts com la popular "Cançó dels opòsits", musicada per Raimon, o poemes tan famosos com "Desert d'amics, de béns i de senyor" o l'himne d'amor "Jus lo front port vostra bella semblança". La present edició substitueix l'antiga de 2011, actualment exhaurida (tot i que es manté la numeració original dintre la col·lecció Tast de clàssics).
