The Pirate Planet
Description of book
The Pirate Planet is a science fiction novel by American author Charles W. Diffin.
The Pirate Planet is a story of alien invasion, kidnapping, space travel, weird ugly creatures on a distant planet, and of course a beautiful woman. Two of our three heroes battle it out on the pirate planet itself, and the third faces some mind-boggling manufacturing obstacles back home. Can he accomplish his goal in time to save the Earth? And then there's that semi-crazy hermit scientist: will he reveal the secret that will save the world?
Part One: A strange light blinks on Venus, and over old Earth hovers a mysterious visitant-dread harbinger of Interplanetary War.
Part Two: It is war--inter-planetary war--and on far-distant Venus, two fighting Earthlings stand up against a whole planet run amok.
Part Three: Two fighting Yankees--war-torn Earth's sole representatives on Venus--set out to spike the greatest gun of all time.
Part Four: From Earth and Sub-Venus converges a titanic offensive of justice on the unspeakable Man-Things of Torg.
The Pirate Planet originally appeared as a four-part serial in Astounding Stories of Super-Science in November and December 1930, and January and February 1931.
Total Running Time (TRT): 5 hours, 28 min. Reading by Bill Boerst.
