A fantastic classic novella by the author of Cranford, Elizabeth Gaskell. Along with 'Cranford', 'The Last Generation in England' and 'Mr Harrison's Confessions' this was one of Gaskell’s novellas that was used as source material for the teleplay for the BBC's 2007 television series 'Cranford'.
