Søiberg er mest kendt for sine fortællinger Øde egne (1906) og romantrilogierne De levendes land (1916-1920) og Søkongen (1926-30). I sine romaner benytter Harry Søiberg sig både af romantisering og symbolik, men hans delvis selvbiografiske roman På vej mod tiden (1952) bærer også elementer fra realismen og et socialistisk engagement.
