März 1916 in Wien) war eine mährisch-österreichische Schriftstellerin. Ihre psychologischen Erzählungen gehören zu den bedeutendsten deutschsprachigen Beiträgen des 19. Jahrhunderts in diesem Genre. Marie von Ebner-Eschenbach, geborene Freiin Dubský, ab 1843 Gräfin, war die Tochter des Franz Baron Dubský, ab 1843 Graf Dubský, und seiner zweiten Frau Baronesse Marie von Vockel. Väterlicherseits hat sie ihre Wurzeln im alten böhmisch-katholischen Adelsgeschlecht der Dubský von Třebomyslice. Mütterlicherseits stammt sie vom Geschlecht der sächsisch-protestantischen Familie Vockel ab. Sie hatte sechs Geschwister, darunter den österreich-ungarischen General und Diplomaten Viktor Dubský von Třebomyslice.
