Kirja julkaistiin jo vuonna 1942. Toivo Pekkanen (1902–1957) oli suomalainen kirjailija. Hän kirjoitti niin romaaneja ja novelleja kuin näytelmiäkin. Hänen kunniakseen on perustettu Pekkas-palkinto.
