Caesar?s Column
Description of the book
"Caesar's Column" is a novel by Ignatius Donnelly, a writer famous for having written and published the work entitled "Atlantis: the antediluvian world".The book is, on the whole, quite complex and can be classified as a science fiction genre and dystopian or apocalyptic narrative. The work also has elements of Roman narrative and can even be considered a real political novel (especially as regards the experience of Donnelly in agricultural populism). The main character named Gabriel Weltstein narrates in first person: he writes some letters to his brother, telling him about his experiences during a visit to New York in 1988.
Weltstein is a wool merchant and wants absolutely to avoid dealing with an international cartel and sell wool directly to American producers...
