Esta es, además, una reflexión sobre la ciencia y sobre el lugar que tiene en la sociedad: «Exponer una doctrina científica no es atacar a nadie en sus creencias, porque ciencia y religión significan una dualidad perfecta y aislada».<br><br>Eduardo Ladislao Holmberg (1852-1937) fue un médico, naturalista y escritor argentino. Fue una de las principales figuras de las ciencias naturales en el país: realizó numerosos viajes para compendiar la biodiversidad del territorio argentino, fue director del Jardín Zoológico de Buenos Aires y realizó numerosos estudios. Fue además un prolífico literato y pionero de la ciencia ficción en su país.
