Toon Tellegen heeft veel liefde voor de oude en verslagen mens, de kleine voorwerpjes op zijn bureau, John Donne, John Berryman, Pablo Neruda, en voor Afrika, waar hij drie jaar lang een gelukkige medicijnman was. Regelmatig trekt hij zich terug, om zich af te vragen wat hem nu te doen staat. Waarschijnlijk zal hij bedenken dat meer poëzie moet volgen. Deze bundel is zijn debuut.
