"De oprigtige" er en serie bestående af tre bind, der alle sammen følger en embedsfamilie i København i det 19. århundrede. Trilogien består af "Kopisten" (1979), "Da dage blev til år" (1981) og "Den oprigtige" (1984). Jørgen Mathiassen (f. 1933) er oprindeligt uddannet advokat, men har også fungeret inden for forfattergerningen både inden for faglitteratur og skønlitteratur. Han er primært kendt for sine krimier, men har også skrevet utallige bøger og artikler om sig fag (jura). Han blev tildelt Poe-Prisen for årets bedste kriminalroman i 1978 og 1987.
