Sie war von 1978-1982 Dozentin an der Musikhochschule des Saarlandes und ab 1982 Professorin an der Hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Hamburg. Rilke schrieb die Sonette an Oprheus auf Château Muzot im Schweizer Wallis im Jahre 1922, gleichzeitig beendete er die Duineser Elegien, die ebenfalls als Audio-Book verfügbar sind.
