Jules and Scott are a young professional couple living on the outskirts of London. When Orla - a charismatic Irish actor - sweeps into their lives, inviting her to house-share seems like the answer to all their problems: she needs a home, they could do with the money, and she's fun and charming, with a busy job and active social life.
But once Orla moves in, Jules starts to feel uncomfortable. Whatever the occasion, Orla has to be centre-stage, and there's always something that casts her in the spotlight. Every social occasion, every outing, every get-together is dominated by her and her daily dramas.
When Jules discovers she's pregnant, she's relieved Scott agrees Orla should go. But the day they decide to tell her, she has her own news - and it's devastating.
How can they ask her to leave now, when she needs them more than ever?
The answer is they can't. But as Jules realizes all they really know about Orla is what she tells them, an unspeakable question begins to form in her mind. She must be wrong though, surely? Because no-one would lie about something so terrible.
