Hänen runoillaan on edelleen vankka suosio. Vuosien saatossa moni säveltäjä on inspiroitunut Leinon runoista: runoja on säveltänyt musiikiksi niin Erkki Melartin, Jean Sibelius kuin Kaj Chydenius. Leinolle on pystytetty patsas Esplanadin puistoon Helsinkiin.
