"Jaana Rönty" -romaanissa seurataan puolestaan maalaistyttöä, joka muuttaa Helsinkiin. Teos nähdään eräänlaisena jatko-osana "Tuomas Vitikalle". Eino Leino (1878–1926) oli suomalainen kirjailija, runoilija ja lehtimies. Hän oli yksi merkittävimpiä suomalaisia 1800- ja 1900-luvun vaihteen kirjailijoita. Hänen runoillaan on edelleen vankka suosio. Vuosien saatossa moni säveltäjä on inspiroitunut Leinon runoista: runoja on säveltänyt musiikiksi niin Erkki Melartin, Jean Sibelius kuin Kaj Chydenius. rnrnLeinolle on pystytetty patsas Esplanadin puistoon Helsinkiin.
