Surgido a raíz de un viaje a Argentina en 1913, narra de forma tan simbólica como expresiva el cruce de un mundo a otro, del viejo continente al nuevo mundo, y sus impresiones a la hora de zambullirse en él.<br><br>Salvador Rueda fue un periodista y poeta español nacido en Benaque (Málaga) en 1857 y fallecido en Málaga capital en 1933. Se le considera uno de los precursores del movimiento modernista en las letras españolas, con numerosas novelas y relatos de corte costumbrista que retratan el ambiente y la vida andaluza de su época.
