Fundó la «Revista Nacional de Literatura y Ciencias Sociales» junto a otros reconocidos escritores de la época y fue editor de «El Orden». Asimismo, fue presidente de la Sociedad de Autores de Uruguay y miembro de varios ateneos culturales.
