A transitional tale, situated between Lovecrafts earlier work and the later Cthulhu Mythos, The Horror At Red Hook depicts the strange and forbidding account of an Irish Detective, detirmined to unearth the truth of the mysterious spiritualist; Robert Suydam of Red Hook, and his connection with a relentless series of horrible kidnappings.
A short story, first published in Weird Tales in January of 1927, and heavily inspired by the time the author spent in New York, and was one of the few stories that saw book publication during his lifetime.
