Assassin’s Apprentice
Buchbeschreibung
The first volume in Robin Hobb’s internationally bestselling Farseer series.
In a faraway land where members of the royal family are named for the virtues they embody, one young boy will become a walking enigma.
Born on the wrong side of the sheets, Fitz, son of Chivalry Farseer, is a royal bastard cast out into the world, friendless and lonely. Only his magical link with animals – the old art known as the Wit – gives him solace and companionship. But the Wit, if used too often, is a perilous magic, and one abhorred by the nobility.
So when Fitz is finally adopted into the royal household, he must give up his old ways and embrace a new life of weaponry, scribing, courtly manners; and how to kill a man secretly, as he trains to become a royal assassin.

Prachtig fantasy verhaal.
Buch★5

Super slow to start but really picks up half way through. Stick with it, turned out to be a fabulous read. Definitely keen to dive into the next book, and rest of the series!swiftReviews:swift-recommend-a-must-read

My first step into the works of Robin Hobb and I'm hooked. And since I've heard from others that this book was one they liked less than others I can only begin to imagine how much I'll enjoy the rest of the series.swiftReviews:swift-recommend-for-the-book-club
This book was slow, so so slow, but I didn't get bored. I love how we got to grow with Fitz. How layers of the plot began to fall together as Fitz was beginning to understand what was going on around him.
Characters were well written and developed. The worldbuilding was excellent and the villains scary. The epilogue was a bit confusing, but I suppose that will solve when I read the rest of the series. Which I will definitly be continuing.
I read this both physically as through audio to maximize my reading. The audio was nice and narrator easy to listen to.Buch★4

The last third picked up a lot but I also enjoyed learning so much about the characters and their relathionships as well as Fitz‘s childhood and training at first ❤️swiftReviews:swift-recommend-recommends
