The narration on this book is poor. More often than not the characters sound like pitiful wretches in constant plight at the world around them. There is nothing in the writing that would demand them to be like this. Meanwhile the writing is not exactly spellbinding and rather falls on the crass side of disinteresting. Action is broken up by long winding thoughts and awkward descriptions. The characters all come across as at best annoying and the main character does nothing to gain any sympathy for the nightmarish journey he embarks on. The story manages in its early stages to establish an interesting enough mystery, but incapable of maintaining the pace, starts winding into a seemingly filler middle section that out stays it's welcome. The ending is perhaps the most disappointing aspect of this book, realising it's mystery in a bland and contrived way. This was a painful listen.

Was not expecting this book to go the way it did, but really enjoyed it. The angst and frustration the protangonist goes through really comes through well and makes for an exciting listen. Will definetely be interested to finish the series

En helt ok historia som tar lite för lång tid att komma till klimax. Slutet gör det till en väldigt svag trea.
