Diana is married to a high-ranking Civil Servant who is a workaholic and he neglects her badly. Diana takes part in an experiment after receiving hospital treatment on her holiday. In due course, she notices that everyone else is getting old but she is still remaining young and beautiful. When she visits the scientist, he tells her that the experiment is one where, if successful, she will live to almost two hundred years of age and remain exactly as she looks at present for all that time.

After the Dream

An Israeli scientist invents a machine which is able to exchange the bodies of people. No one in Israel can see any use for it but the Minister of Science in Britain cannot wait to get his hands on it. Ultimately it is sold and brought to England to a laboratory at Lytham St. Annes. The great advantage of the invention is that while the bodies are exchanged, the heads and brain remain the same. Lancaster jail is a tough place to be incarcerated. It contains five hundred prisoners all serving life sentences and is under strict control. Then the Government decides that, with the new invention, they intend to exchange prisoners at the jail with very old eminent people who contributed greatly to society, thereby extending their lives by thirty, forty or fifty years. It mean that a thirty-five year old prisoner would exchange his body with an eighty-eight year old man. The reasoning was that the inmates in the prison were simply rotting away uselessly. Although their lives would be very much shortened after the exchange the recipients of their bodies would be able to live many years longer and continue to benefit the community. The equipment is set up at Lytham St. Annes and prisoners are sent there regularly to undergo the body exchange. At the same time, well-known celebrities and people of rank were invited to gain a new lease of life. However problems soon arise. Firstly, the number of prisoners serving life sentences become used up and the Government has to seek donors from mental institutions. Secondly, because of its horrendous nature, the Government insists that it remains totally secret. However a television news reporter by the name of Sky Summers investigates and will not let go. People are assassinated by the Government for interfering in the process and Lancaster jail becomes empty and is scheduled to close. Bill Preston, its Governor, is in despair. The controller of the project, Alan Jordan, eventually realises the inhumane nature of the project and he decides to revolt against it. There are many twists and turns in this tale, but it instils horror in the reader for there is worse to come!

John Trevelyan Parfitt, a refrigeration engineer, is made redundant and goes to an Employment Exchange to find work. Unknown to him, a schoolboy had hacked into two databases and joined them together.  The result is that Parfitt is abducted to Harwich Docks where he is put on a ship that takes him to a remote volcanic island in the Arctic Ocean.  He is taken to a complex built underground and told that his work is to decimate the world’s population which is growing too fast.  Suddenly, people start to get murdered at the complex one by one and the volcano on the island begins to erupt.. Then Parfitt discovers that no one is ever allowed to leave the island.  The result is a constant crisis for the staff who fear for their lives both inside and outside the complex. The tale becomes a great murder mystery in a tightly secured area on a very remote island.

Cathedral

Inge Ekland, a beautiful chambermaid in the High House of the Crown Prince is discovered in bed with him by the Queen who packs her, her husband and the four children off to Liverpool to prevent a royal scandal.  The son of the Crown Prince is born halfway across the North Sea. Inge’s husband loses all the money given to them by the Queen in a card game on board ship so they land at Liverpool docks homeless and penniless. Ekland goes off to drink in the tavern but Bailey, a hardware/grain store owner comes with a pony and trap looking for some immigrants who failed to show. He takes Inge and the children to his store where she has to cook, clean and work in the hardware store. There are many stories, twists and turns in this tale.

In the Course of Time

I’m a film scriptwriter in Hollywood, with a partner called Ellie who’s eight months pregnant and a film director, Harry Badella, who’s rude, irascible and always applying pressure on actors and writers to get the best out of them,.  However  I am beleaguered by a quest I had put off for a long time.  Some fifty years ago, I was evacuated to Cornwall during World War Two and fostered by a couple called the Laitys. They had a son, Patrick, and for years I wanted to go back to meet him but there was never a suitable time.  Suddenly, I decided to take the bull by the horns and fly to England only to discover that Patrick had died many years earlier,  Then, by accident, I learned that he was still alive and  there were reasons why he wanted people to think that he was dead.   I began to undertake some research which proved to have many ramifications. After delving deeply into Patrick’s past, I became the target for three attempts on my life while dead bodies seem to accumulate around me, each one appearing to be an accidental death.  I found myself in the company of many people who professed to have known my foster brother and then the situation accelerated to a higher level.  I discovered that papers from a Roger Blake, a well-respected scientist, related to the Star Wars programme... by which nations are able to park nuclear missiles in outer space to protect themselves from attack, I soon learned that everyone was searching  for Blake’s  papers and I embarked on a smuggling escapade to find Patrick in a whirlpool   of intrigue with many twists and turns before coming  across a woman with whom I fell in love.  Following that, there were some nightmare situations, such as the visit from a man with an iron hand who threatened my life, and my body hanging over Hell’s Mouth, where many people go to commit suicide...

Entanglement

Clement Davies, the trouble-shooter in the Imperial Bank is found dead and John Rigby is appointed in his place.  Despite the promotion and extra salary, he doesn’t want the job and makes a deal to do it for only three months. However, on the very  first day he has to deal with a number of difficult problems, not least a man with a bomb in a holdall in the Manager’s office of the bank demanding the contents of the safe, a demonstration of hundreds of people outside the front of the bank, a computer fraud, and Sam Elliott, the most scheming executive in the bank who wants the job as the trouble-shooter.  Rigby is being stalked by his wife, who refuses to give him a divorce and she wants him back after leaving him,  but he has made a new life for himself with a much younger mistress who is bearing his child.  Banks don’t need trouble-shooters, you say!

The Benchminder

Jeff Hunter’s wife is killed in a hit-and-run accident which leaves him devastated. However he is plagued by her  apparition because she tells him she cannot move on to the next world until the rapist and killer of a murdered young girl is found.  She tells him it is imperative that he finds the murderer albeit it took place some years ago and no one was ever arrested or punished for the crime. Hunt is an architect but he is forced to turns detective to find the criminal and he finds himself facing a myriad of corridors in his quest with no help from  the police who are ostensibly reluctant to become involved.   They are even more reluctant to become involved especially when Hunter explains the paranormal situation and he is therefore in a constant conflict with them. However, by degrees and determination, he eventually finds the solution to the problem in his efforts to release the spirit of his dead wife into the next world.

Myriad of Corridors

Sam  Ross’s wife dies in a car crash after finding him in bed with another woman.  After the funeral, he decides to trace his family tree and, as he is Jewish, he reckons that he might trace his ancestors back four thousand years when they hauled stones as slaves to build the pyramids in Egypt. His grandparents all came form different countries and he begins his quest in Minsk in  Russia, and goes on to Iasi in Rumania, Warsaw and Ulm in Germany where he meets a young woman with whom he falls in love.  They marry and then she has a child. Her cousin, Anna, comes to live with them as a nanny but creates a menage-a-trois with Lesbian interest.  Ross however, becomes obsessed with the research into his ancestry and it goes on from there. Full of information, it is an intriguing story with a great deal of interesting features.

Ancestor

The story is divided into two sections which meet in the latter part of the work but both relate to the Botallack mine in South Cornwall. The first involves a group of Russian students who defect to the West seeking political asylum from the British Government. However the incident causes international dissent from the Russian government, to the embarrassment of the British government and the students are hidden away in a remote spot in Cornwall until the dust dies down. Ivan becomes their leader of the group and he goes to Plymouth to meet with a Member of Parliament but after being given a load of political nonsense, he storms off and decides to go his own way. However, on the night before he went to Plymouth Ivan slept with Anna. She becomes pregnant and has a son but Ivan knows nothing about it until she writes to him to tell him. In the meantime, he comes into contact with Elsie, a widow living in a slum property, and he lives there with her and her son but he treats her badly, takes all her savings and eventually leaves her. He meets up with James, a mining consultant, who employs him to help him buy Botallack mine through the Stannary Court. On the other side of the story, Sadler, a bank manager, is visited by Wesley Morris, a trader who looks like a tramp with an old fur coat and a battered trilby hat. Morris wants to buy the mine and has come for a bank loan. Sadler becomes interested in being a part of it but when negotiations occur for the sale, he discovers that Morris won an option to buy the mine in a poker game. There are numerous discussions with various parties and lots of negotiation until Morris reveals that the Government is interested in using a half-mile long tunnel at the mine, which goes out under the Atlantic Ocean, to deposit nuclear waste. The knowledge of this upsets the local miners and a plan to ensure that it happens takes place. Sadler has no money so he decided to steal it from dormant accounts at the bank in the hope that he can pay it all back before it’s discovered. The Russian students are sent to the mine to clear the levels which they resent it very much. However, an explosion takes place and they are all drowned in the mine. Many years later, Anna dies and contact is made with Ivan for him to go and see his son. He agrees to do so and is nervous all the way on the journey to Cornwall but they eventually meet each other.

In the Bleak Midwinter

Daniel Stuart’s grandfather leaves documents in his Will which state that he is direct descendant of King James the Second of England and Scotland and is the rightful King of Great Britain and the Commonwealth. Daniel is an outstanding Member of Parliament and, with the help of his sister, Joanna, the assistant editor to the national newspaper, The Gazette, he decides to claim the throne and rule over Parliament with the Divine Right of Kings. He wants Britain to become great again and promises many benefits to the people if he should become the King. Naturally there is a great deal of resistance but the incidents which occur on his path to success are intriguing and varied, culminating in romance, hatred, disloyalty, antagonism and deviousness. He becomes involved with a female solicitor with evil intentions but eventually meets the woman of his dreams. An agreement with a member of the Royal Household proves to be favourable although those at the Palace strive to stop him from pursuing his cause, much to their detriment. There is great concern from within the public who actually fight each other and there is danger of civil war breaking out. However, despite the conflict in Parliament, Daniel manages to establish calm in the end, especially when he sits upon the throne of Great Britain and the new King.

Gus is twenty years old and his life was just beginning even though he had a long start by reason of experience and there was also the remote possibility of the crown of Sweden in his sights! This is the second book in the series from exciting author Stan Mason.

In the Course of Time: Book Two

DON WISE is a clever scientist but he is obese, ugly, and has big ears. In addition, he stutters, is tongue-tied with women, and isvery awkward in his body language. He has a crush on an old school friend whom he hasn’t seen in years and a mishap in the computer of an marriage agency brings them together. However, they only write to each other for almost a year and he realises that he has to meet her to continue the relationship…but he is terrified of doing so because he knows he will be awkward and tongue-tied. He works in the brainstorming unit at Universal Energy inc. His colleague, ROBERT HARRIS, suddenly comes up with an idea called hydrogentics whereby a molecule of hydrogen can be moved to mass production, creating a heating process that will reduce the cost of all the energy in the world by seventy-five per cent, However it needs to be tested to check its veracity and capability. The project soon comes to the attention of Mr. G., a one-armed entrepreneur, who sends his subordinate, Jake, to obtain the formula and the accompanying notes. HARRIS proves to be extremely principled and refuses to hand them over even though he is offered a small fortune in return. Subsequently after a number of refusals, he is murdered. JAKE’S next step is to go to DON WISE topersuade him to hand over the details. DON refuses money and he will only do so if he can become good-looking, slim and attractive to women. It appears to be a mission impossible but JAKE arranges for him to visit a cosmetic surgeon, DR. SINCLAIR, who has been struck off by the medical council, MAI WAN, a Chinese psychotherapist, and HYWELL GRIFFITHS, a retired Welsh teacher. They take him in hand in a series of daily sessions over five months to undertake a total cosmetic, weight-losing, mind-blowing transformation. DAVID COLEMAN is the Controller of the brainstorming unit at Universal Energy. He steals the formula and the notes and wipes the computer clean of the files before leaving without notice. He arranges a pyramid scheme offering options to investors who wish to subscribe. When this comes to the attention of the one-armed entrepreneur, Jake is sent to get him to close the operation. He Coleman refuses to do so at first but, after being seriously menaced, heis forced to comply. This brings a mob of angry investors to his father’s house where he is staying and he is subsequently arrested by the police for theft and fraud. ANYA SMIRNOFF, a young female scientist from Samarkand in Uzbekistan, joins the brainstorming unit in place of HARRIS, but she has to wear a mask because of a serious car accident. DON WISE falls in love with her, himself wearing bandages as a result of cosmetic surgery, while she wears a mask. The hydrogentics programme fails and Mr. G. moves on to find a jeweller willing to copy the famous Faberge Eggs for which he intends to make a fortune. However the security code that everyone uses when they contact each other is ‘The Quick Brown Fox Jumps Over The Lazy Dog.’ So how come the same code is used by the new Controller who takes the place of DAVID COLEMAN?

The Quick Brown Fox

NEIL WAVERLEY returns home one evening from the major bank branch in the centre of London bank where he works, to discover that his wife has left him. She leaves a note to say that she is leaving him after having had an affair with another man for the last six months. He is absolutely devastated and very angry at her deceit and he cannot get over the fact that his life is in ruins. He finds solace in the company of PAULA STRATTON, a woman who has just joined the amateur dramatic society that Waverley has belonged to for some years. When she discovers that he is a senior bank manager, she starts to formulate a foolproof plan by which he can steal the best part of a million pounds in sterling and get away with it. At first, he considers the idea to be crazy but she tells him that she loves him and her main aim is to help him get over the hurdle of grieving for his wife who has gone to live with her lover in New York. She induces Waverley to go to Spain with her for a week, in separate rooms, to get over his depression and she tries to explain the plan but he is not receptive to the idea. Whilst there, he reads an English newspaper which stresses that his bank is going to make 20,000 staff redundant, so he reflects on Paula’s plan and eventually decided to go through with it. ERNEST CROZIER, another manager at the bank, searches for any means to bring Waverley down so that he may gain promotion and he uses his subordinate, Abbott, to do the research. Abbott is enthusiastic because it could mean his promotion, so together they keep tracking Waverley’s movements and activities with great suspicion on everything he does. . FRED WILSON, a itinerant burglar, is the bete-noire of MARLEY, the Chief Inspector of a small police station. Marley has an obsession about the burglar who has upgraded his activities to robbing banks and he has sleepless nights thinking about capturing the criminal , willing to do anything to achieve that aim. After two failures in robbing banks, Marley eventually catches Wilson with the goods in his possession. However Paula’s plan proves to be perfect. She and Waverley fly to the Argentine to live with a million pounds in sterling while Wilson gets away with blue murder but no money. An intriguingly clever plot on how a bank manager could get away with a million pounds whereby no one would ever suspect him as being the thief.

Stealth

An old man dies and his spirit goes to Heaven, but it turns out to be entirely different to anything he had ever imagined in his mortal life. He discovers that it is governed by very strict rules, many of which goes against the grain especially when he has to account for all the bad things he did when he was alive.. One of his tasks is to be sent back to Earth as an Accompanying Angel to report on a Seraph and later returns to unravel a situation that could affect the whole planet. He meets the Cosmic Joker who takes him to Hell with surprising results and, very clearly, spirit life is nothing like anything he had expected.

The Other Side of Heaven

Charles and Jennifer Roach are a deeply devoted young married couple who live in Cornwall.  On wintry night, when snow and ice covered every inch of the ground, they go for a walk with a neighbour’s dog which rushes out into the road.  At the same time, a large truck appears over the hill and the driver, trying to avoid the dog, crashes into Jennifer, killing her but he becomes a hit-and-run driver because he moves on without stopping. Charles is devastated at her death but later is surprised to see her apparition and hear her speaking to him.  She tells him what is happening to her as she moves towards the next world and he decides to seeks the help of a medium. At the same time, the truck driver, on a journey northwards, knocks down another person and finds himself in serious financial difficulties with regard to his trucking business to the point of bankruptcy.  He becomes attracted to an old flame on one of his journeys and when his wife finds out she leaves him.  However he is more concerned with Jannifer who continues to haunt him. Charles becomes involved with the voluptuous Rhona Paphos who tries to recruit him for a senior appointment in her jewellery business at the same time falling in love with him. Her mother is a medium and she holds a séance for him.  Charles is in a dilemma whether to leave his banking career behind and start a new life after settling Jennifer’s journey into the  hereinafter but destiny guides him the right way.  However, all does not bode well for the truck driver as Jennifer gets her revenge before her transition to eternal peace.

Revengement

When his sister collapses and is taken to hospital where she lays in a coma, her brother goes to her bedroom to collect some of her items she will need in the hospital.  He sees her personal diary and picks it up.  He has not seen her for fifteen years and knows nothing about her past.  He was fourteen when she ran off with a schoolmaster to marry him in Gretna Green so he was curious to know what had happened to her in that time. The revelations set out in the diary amazed him. In the meantime, he is trying to rewrite his second book but has trouble from his publishers. And there is a married woman who lives close by who engages with him romantically.
