This book started out by sweeping me off my feet… it was funny, poignant, sad and sweet and awful in all the right ways - and I adored the characters! It just felt so unique and so relevant, I repeated so many parts of it in my audio book app, and I told everyone I was reading SUCH a great book!… Unfortunately, the longer I listened the less I loved them and the more the story leaned into gore and more than a few clichées. It kind of lost me towards the end and while I was reeled back in with the epilogue, I still didn’t LOVE it anymore. I do recommend it, but not to anyone who doesn’t enjoy rather plentiful and detailed gore. Also, there were… strange clues that didn’t really go anywhere that made me feel like parts of the story had been edited out with bits that was leading up to them still in there, and a person I still have no idea who he ACTUALLY was that dropped a huge spoiler that was just not discussed at all… it was weird. And not in a very good way.

How can I give this book 5 stars and never hear anything like it again? It was amazing but I'm exhausted. And I cried. A bit too much for me but as a literary work really great! I'm going back to my annoying but cozy stuff

Das beste Buch, was ich seit langem gehört habe. Ich liebe die Stimmung, die Charaktere, den Humor, den Schauer und den Aufbau der Handlung. Großartig!

This. Was. Epic! Really loved this and the main characters were amazing! They were all unique in their own way and easily stood out. I thought the writing was fantastic too. Some lovely prose and descriptions.
