When their thirteen-year-old daughter Barbara goes missing at summer camp, all eyes fall on the Van Laar family.
They're cold, rich people. They own the camp. And it's happened to them before.
Fourteen years ago their little boy, Bear, vanished without a trace.
Two children lost to the same wilderness.
Is it a tragedy… or a crime?

Wonderful crime story with believable characters and a twisting plot that keeps you guessing. Unlike many other books with intricate story lines, this one is credible all the way through. For the road trip

Throughout the book, I got strong Twin Peaks vibes. It was sombre yet captivating. I didn’t see the plot twist coming at the end. As for the narrator, Saskia Maerleveld was a perfect match! Time flew by while listening to this audiobook.I recommend

- Well written, the author brings the Aridondracks to life. I particularly enjoyed the exploration of the way women of various ages and social classes were treated during the 1960s and 70s, but felt the first 3/4 of the book were very slow and the conclusion not as shocking or satisfying as I'd have liked by the time the author got there.

Unfortunately, a common problem with thrillers applies here: an exciting start, but then too many characters with too many personal problems are introduced, there is no more depth and you become less and less interested. Another problem is the constant changes of perspective, and in the last part the story is just artificially drawn out. Everything has been said but it goes on and on and on….Not really my cup of tea.Book★3
