Rewitched
Description of the book
'Pure, cosy joy' - Sangu Mandanna, author of The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches
It's time to rediscover her magic . . .
With found family, a dash of romance and an uplifting message about self-love, Rewitched is a cosy autumnal fantasy that will leave readers spellbound.
Belladonna Blackthorn hasn’t lost her magical spark, but she hasn’t seen it in a while either. Balancing work at her beloved London bookshop, Lunar Books, with handling her toxic boss and concealing her witchcraft from those around her – Belle is burnt out. Perfecting the potential of her magic is the last thing on her mind.
But, when her thirtieth birthday brings a summons from her coven and a trial that tests her worthiness as a witch, Belle risks losing her magic for ever. With the month of October to fix things and signs that dark forces may be working against her, Belle will need all the help she can get – from the women in her life, from an unlikely mentor figure and even from an (infuriating) coven watchman who’s sworn to protect her . . .
Can Belle reignite her spark before it's too late?

Rewitched by Lucy Jane Wood is the kind of cosy, feel-good fantasy I didn’t know I needed. The main character, Belle, is a witch approaching 30 and somehow still hasn’t got her life together—relatable, right? She’s just trying to keep her job at a bookshop, avoid her annoying new boss, and keep hold of her magic powers that she might accidentally lose forever. And don’t even get me started on the side characters; they’re quirky and hilarious, and the love interest, Rune, brings just enough charm without taking over the story. It’s part witchy drama, part self-discovery journey, with a touch of mystery that’s perfect for chilly evenings. If you like books with everyday magic, a bit of romance, and a ton of heart, you’ll love this one! Perfect with a blanket and a cup of tea.

I loved it! I’ve been waiting for this since Lucy Wood first announced it last year and I’m so happy I finally got to listen to the audiobook. I loved the characters, the alliteration and how you can imagine everything so easily.

This is such a cosy beautiful read!!! I love the main character, and her journey of finding herself. The banter and humour is just spot on, and I wish I could live in that bookshop! If you are looking for an action packed fantasy, this isn't going to be for you, but if you are looking for some autumnal, witchy vibes, with some great characters, a really good message and an amazing sense of humour, then this might be for you.

The definition of a cosy read, magic, fantasy and autumnal vibes throughout, it's even set with a woman who works in a bookstore! Loved Bella (Belle) Blackthorn (FMC) from the first meeting, listened to the book and the narration from a proper northern lass , from Evie Hargreaves is spot on. A fabulous debut novel from Lucy Jane Wood - hope to read more from her! l'd happily revisit these characters in a sequel but it's a great stand alone too. The plot is a tad predictable at points but there's enough magic, heart and so many laugh out loud moments that make me forgive that. There's a lot of fun world building and such a group of well-rounded characters and relationships. If you love the early magic of Harry Potter, watched Charmed, wanted to be Sabrina and always get excited to get the blankets and PSL's out as the leaves fall, then this is for you! The audiobook also has an interview with Evie chatting to the author, which offers some nice insights into the story.
