"Fourth Wing will have your heart pounding from beginning to end ... A fantasy like you've never read before."?Jennifer L. Armentrout, #1 New York Times bestselling author
Enter the brutal and elite world of a war college for dragon riders from USA Today bestselling author Rebecca Yarros.
Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general—also known as her tough-as-talons mother—has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders.
But when you’re smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away … because dragons don’t bond to “fragile” humans. They incinerate them.
With fewer dragons willing to bond than cadets, most would kill Violet to better their own chances of success. The rest would kill her just for being her mother’s daughter—like Xaden Riorson, the most powerful and ruthless wingleader in the Riders Quadrant.
She’ll need every edge her wits can give her just to see the next sunrise.
Yet, with every day that passes, the war outside grows more deadly, the kingdom’s protective wards are failing, and the death toll continues to rise. Even worse, Violet begins to suspect leadership is hiding a terrible secret.
Friends, enemies, lovers. Everyone at Basgiath War College has an agenda—because once you enter, there are only two ways out: graduate or die.

I'm a voracious fantasy reader and have now become a listener and this is hands down the best book I've listened to. It's one of the best books I've encountered this year all round! The narration is really excellent too, and caused me to binge-listen. The plot is interesting and character driven with lots of action, has a kind of hunger games feel, but with dragons instead. I find you tend to lose a little of the 'colour' in a book when a book is in audio but this one still shines brightly.

Wow! This book was everything it promised to be and more. So much better than I expected and I was captivated right from the start. Narration was superb. Can't wait to start the 2nd book.

I really enjoyed this book! The ending made me gasp and I will immediately be starting the sequel. The characters are interesting from the get-go and Violet is the type of woman we all wish we could be...kind, compassionate, loyal, determined. An excellent protagonist and brilliant story.

If you like a fantasy tale with Dragons, drama and deception then this is one for you. Female narration was excellent and represented characters really well - not so much the male narration at the end unfortunately Sex episodes went on too much and unnecessary detail but apart from that a great listen
