Praise for Divine Rivals:‘Rich and romantic – if stories had scent, this one would smell like a mug of black tea, the ink ribbons of a typewriter, and that addictive spice called enemies to lovers’

I don't know how fast they wanted the characters to meet, they met 4 hours into the book and were speaking through letters before, for me it's just the perfect timing I just hope there was a tire book focused on everyone's happy dove ending but sometimes it's good left like this then make another book and it becomes sad again. Great ending!

This was a fantastically well-written novel which had me laughing, crying and gasping in shock. The characters are so well developed and the world-building is impressively intricate. 5 stars.

Narration was still good but the book itself is not as good as the first one. I had a hard time starting this because of the ending in Divine Rivals. It was a good ending but I just dreaded what will happen next. And when I started Ruthless Vows, it was so difficult to get through. If I had been reading this and not listening to the audiobook, I might have not gone through with it. Once I reached the 50% mark, it finally picked up and became better. I enjoyed that the magical system was explored more but I no longer felt invested with their romance, it's like a known fact but it doesn't move me as much. The book has lost its touch on the romance and the letter writing. I also wish they were reunited earlier. Although I appreciate the parallelism of this book to the first, it was stretched out for too long.

My god, what a painful book. It’s as though the author had a wordcount to hit and put in as many unnecessary sentences as possible. I genuinely think the book could have been half the length and the story would have been just the same. I know this book is fantasy, but the story was just ridiculous and far fetched.
