Interesting little novella and shows what inspired Pip to write her EPQ on which connects nicely to the main trilogy. Made want to organise my own little murder mystery party hahaha.

3.5 stars. This was a short prequel novella, following the teens as they played out a murder mystery game’s plot at a party. It seems to be standalone, all mentions of the murders from the main series were just to set the scene for those novels and I don’t feel I saw any spoilers. I listened to the audiobook on BookBeat as it’s so short and I think the narrator was great at switching up character voices. There were some slang, jokes and language style that came off a bit juvenile but I think I still liked this little taster enough to go on to read the main books in the series now.

Enjoyed this. Wanted something short and sweet. It didn’t disappoint. Didn’t realise it was a prequel. So I will be getting into the other two books for sure
